Authorised Economic Operator – AEO
After the terrorist attacks in New York and Madrid, major countries in the world started to debate on how to enhance the safety and security in international trade without disrupting the trade flows themselves. The European system of AEO certificates allows the identification of “safe” operators that apply strict safety and security control measures and, in exchange, will be granted favorable treatment at the borders. There will be three different sorts of AEO certificates. Some of the benefits will apply to all of them, some only to one or two.

ECG 2008/2009 Survey on Vehicle Logistics
The ECG Survey is a unique scientific publication, created by the sector to represent the reality of the industry in each single country across Europe, including Russia and Turkey. It combines global and European data on the automotive industry in general, and the finished vehicle logistics sector in particular detail. In preparing for this edition, we reviewed and completely re-designed the content to provide significantly richer data for the reader. We have sourced external data from industry research experts including global forecasting company JD Power, and internal data comes directly from the best source - our members! In particular, the Country Analysis section is brand new and includes a map with production and distribution sites - both inland and maritime terminals – in each of the 24 countries where ECG has members as well as production and sales volumes and forecast data.

ECG Operations Quality Manual
Preface
This Quality Manual has been developed to provide ECG members with guidelines to guarantee customers services of the highest quality throughout Europe, resulting in higher efficiency, the avoidance of damage and safer working practices for our staff.
Changing views on quality issues leading to quality improvements will require this manual to be updated. We would welcome initiatives from both our customers and members to share with us any changing views and innovative ideas which could lead to the improvement of this manual.
As legal regulations, liabilities and customer requirements in European countries are not always the same, some of our instructions will have to be adapted to meet these national laws. Therefore our instructions may not be used if they contradict existing customer requirements, legal regulations and liabilities.

ECG's report on alternative fuel trucks
At present oil is still the major source of energy for transport (98%). EU imports 76% of its oil and this figure will grow in the next 20 to30 years. In the light of decreasing availability of oil, increased need for clean fuels and until quite recently accentuated high price of oil, the need for alternative sources of fuel grows rapidly.
